China Sky Eye, officially known as the Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical Telescope (FAST), is located in a natural karst depression in Dawodang, Kedu town, Pingtang county, Qiannan Buyi and Miao autonomous prefecture, Guizhou province. It is the world's largest and most sensitive single-dish radio telescope, with a sensitivity ten times that of Germany's Effelsberg 100-meter Telescope and 2.25 times that of the Arecibo 300-meter Telescope in the United States. Capable of capturing fainter signals and detecting dimmer celestial objects, FAST helps humanity unravel the mysteries of the universe.

Centered around China Sky Eye, Guizhou has developed an immersive research and educational tourism destination focused on "exploring the heaven and surveying the earth," with the core experience concentrated in the "Astronomy Town."

The region has integrated three major resources—China Sky Eye (astronomy), the "Bridge in the Heaven" (Pingtang Bridge, showcasing the bridge engineering), and the "Heavenly Sinkhole Cluster" (geological wonders)—to create several premium research and learning routes.
At the Astronomy Experience Hall, visitors can immerse themselves in cosmic exploration through advanced VR/AR technologies. They may also visit the Nan Rendong Memorial Hall to learn about the inspiring story of the "Father of the Sky Eye."
For visitors planning a trip, please note the following guidelines:
Silence in the Core Zone:
To ensure the normal operation of FAST, its 5-kilometer core area is designated as a "Silent Zone." Electronic devices such as mobile phones, digital cameras, smartwatches, and any other equipment that may generate electromagnetic interference are strictly prohibited. The scenic area provides film camera rentals and storage services.
Visitors mainly engage in research and experiential learning at various facilities in the Astronomy Town and can view the full panorama of China Sky Eye from designated observation platforms. Close access to the telescope's reflector surface area is not permitted.
