The "Happy Chinese New Year 2026" series of events, organized by the China Cultural Center in Sydney, will be held at iconic venues across the city, including Sydney Town Hall, the Sydney Opera House, and the Australian National Maritime Museum.
1. 2026 Happy Chinese New Year Concert
Venue: Sydney Opera House
Program: Chinese and Australian artists will join forces to present a special "Happy Chinese New Year" concert of international standard. The performance seamlessly blends traditional Chinese folk music with contemporary artistry, promising Australian audiences a culturally profound and captivating audio-visual experience.
2. Sydney Chinese New Year Festival
As one of the largest Chinese New Year celebrations outside Asia, this festival has become a signature cultural event for Sydney.
Centered around Chinatown and Darling Harbour and extending to various popular landmarks and public spaces, the festival features a diverse lineup of over 80 events. Highlights include traditional temple fairs, street art parties, dragon boat races, and a Chinese zodiac-themed lantern exhibition.
3. Other major Australian cities will also host their own unique celebrations. Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide, and others will immerse locals and visitors in the festive spirit through vibrant street performances and community festivities.
