Nestled in Chongtou town, Yunhe county, Lishui city, Zhejiang province, the Yunhe Rice Terraces are celebrated as one of China's most breathtaking agricultural landscapes. This globally recognized masterpiece offers shifting seasonal vistas, a frequent sea of clouds, and a farming heritage that spans a millennium—making it a paradise for photographers and nature lovers alike.

Core attractions

Zigzag Cloud Ring (Sunrise and sea of clouds core zone)

The terraces' crown jewel, this area becomes a mirror of sky and water during the irrigation season. At dawn, rosy clouds merge with flooded paddies to create an ethereal spectacle. Walk the elevated boardwalks to admire the terraces' intricate contours and the shifting play of light. Don't miss the "Spring Plowing by Streams" (Liushui Bochun) site, where oxen, farmers, and flooded fields compose a living postcard of rural harmony.

Silver Valley (Ancient village and secret canyon realm

A hiker's favorite, this valley features babbling streams, ruins of ancient silver mines, and the 800-year-old Kenggen Stone Village. Built of volcanic rock, the village retains its rustic charm with cobblestone lanes, traditional teahouses, and the historic Official Silver Bridge. Visitors can try hands-on activities such as pounding glutinous rice cakes and grinding tofu.

Seven-star Dune (Panoramic and stargazing haven)

At roughly 1,000 meters elevation, this observation deck affords sweeping, 360-degree views of the terrace system. By night it becomes a premier stargazing and camping site beneath clear skies.
