Located at the Tangshan Cultural Square in Hebei Province, Tangshan Banquet, also known as the Tangshan Food Culture Museum, is a unique cultural tourism and commercial complex. It seamlessly integrates the functions of specialized dining, folk heritage transmission, cultural displays, leisure sightseeing, and educational research.

As an original, immersive indoor culinary micro-vacation destination, the complex approaches from traditional culture and centers around regional specialty cuisine. Its spatial design incorporates the concept of a historical town, recreating streetscapes and courtyards to embody local history, thus generating a powerful sense of place and an unparalleled immersive experience.

What to Expect

A Culinary Haven: Indulge in an array of over 150 local Tangshan delicacies and intangible cultural heritage foods, experiencing the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Cultural Immersion: Step back in time amidst traditional-style architecture, serene bridges and streams, bustling tearooms and eateries, and captivating performances like shadow puppetry and Pingju opera. It's a delightful blend of fine dining and traditional culture experienced through shifting light and shadow.

Folk Traditions: Explore exhibits of vintage artifacts, witness traditional crafts, and enjoy folk arts—a hands-on experience that allows you to observe, participate, and savor.

Spatial Layout

The Tangshan Banquet complex faces west, and its internal structure is primarily divided into three floors, each offering a unique theme for exhibition and immersive experience:

The first floor is dedicated to the culinary experience street, featuring over 150 varieties of distinctive Tangshan-flavored snacks and ten-plus specialty dishes crafted by bearers of intangible cultural heritage. This area is unified by a conceptual "Luanhe River" threading through it, embodying the design concept of "Five Streets, Two Alleys, One River, One World." Two smaller alleys intersect and connect the main thoroughfares, creating a village-like streetscape experience.

The second floor is primarily dedicated to seven major areas, including the Folk Old-Object Exhibition Area, the Common People's Courtyard Chinese Restaurant, Yanshan Academy, the Happy-Playing Park, the Yao Ji Library, the Blessing-Praying Corridor, and the Eight-Banners-Lords' Palace Hot-Pot.

The third floor mainly includes the High-Quality Datang Zhoufu Chinese Restaurant, the Xiaoshaner Western Food, and the Cultural Corridor. The fourth to eighth floors are the five-star-standard Tangshan Banquet cultural-tourism-themed hotel.

Intangible Cultural Heritage Specialty Dining

The featured items include the Grand Empress Dowager's Da Gezha (a traditional snack native to Tangshan), Qizi Shaobing (a type of layered flatbread, typically topped with sesame seeds), Xiaoshan Fried Dough Cake, Sugar Painting (an edible art), the Fourteenth Prince's Roasted Chicken, and Ganglu Shaobing (a traditional Chinese baked wheat cake).
