Nestled in the western Huaiyu Mountains of northeastern Jiangxi province, Mount Sanqing National Park was designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2008, becoming China's seventh World Natural Heritage property. The park takes its name from its three major peaks—Yujing, Yuxu, and Yuhua—which symbolize the three supreme Taoist deities: Yuqing, Shangqing, and Taiqing. Among them, Yujing Peak rises highest, reaching an elevation of 1,819.9 meters.
The area is celebrated for hosting the world's most concentrated and varied forest of granite peaks, shaped over hundreds of millions of years. It is also a sanctuary for biodiversity, home to more than 2,000 species of vascular plants and over 1,700 wildlife species, earning it acclaim as "the most beautiful granite landscape along the western Pacific Rim."
Alongside its natural splendors, Mount Sanqingshan is steeped in more than 1,600 years of Taoist tradition. The ancient Sanqing Palace complex, arranged according to Bagua (Eight Trigrams) principles, is often described as "an open-air museum of classical Taoist architecture."

Core attractions:
Nanqing Park Scenic Are
Renowned for its extraordinary rock formations, this area features iconic landscapes such as:
"Python Emerges from the Mountain": A 128-meter-tall granite pillar resembling a giant python rising from the earth.
"Goddess of the East": A peak shaped like a maiden, associated with the myth of the goddess who heralds spring.
"Jade Maiden Embracing the World": Another striking anthropomorphic rock sculpture.
West Coast Plank Road
Stretching approximately 3,700 meters along cliffs about 1,600 meters above sea level, this is one of China's longest high-altitude pathways. It offers breathtaking views of the canyon and a spectacular sea of clouds, particularly at sunset.
Sunshine (Yangguang) Coast Plank Road
This section features a complimentary glass viewing platform and connects with the West Coast Plank Road to form a scenic loop. It is an ideal location for aerial photography of the peaks and sweeping panoramas.
Sanqing Palace Scenic Area
A millennia-old Taoist heritage site, the buildings are arranged according to the Bagua (Eight Trigrams) principle. Ancient pine trees and weathered stone inscriptions complement one another, enhancing the sense of tranquility and history.
Yujing Peak
As the highest peak of Mount Sanqingshan, Yujing offers distant views of Poyang Lake from its summit. It is widely regarded as one of the best spots for sunrise and sea-of-clouds viewing.
