Harbin, the Ice City; Daqing, the Oil Capital; and Qiqihar, the Crane City, are the main destinations on this route. Harbin was the first city in China to develop ice-and-snow tourism and winter sports, earning it the title of China's ice-and-snow tourism birthplace. Daqing and Qiqihar are abundant in wetlands, lakes, and hot springs. Visitors can enjoy ice lanterns and snow sculptures, go alpine skiing, witness winter fishing, see red-crowned cranes dancing across snowy fields, experience the contrast of "fire and ice" in hot springs surrounded by snow, and try various ice-and-snow recreational activities. They can also savor an array of winter specialty dishes.
