Xuan paper, one of the Four Treasures of the Study in traditional Chinese culture, is renowned for its reputation as "paper that lasts a thousand years". It resists aging, is insect-proof, and remains exceptionally durable, with a history spanning over 1,000 years. Since the Tang Dynasty (early 8th century), Xuan paper has been the preferred carrier for calligraphy, painting, and printing classic texts. In 2009, the traditional craft of making Xuan paper was inscribed on UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

Xuan Paper Town

Xuan Paper Town is located in Jing County, Xuancheng City, Anhui Province, the birthplace of Xuan paper, and known as the "Hometown of Xuan Paper". It serves as a comprehensive park that integrates Xuan paper craftsmanship displays, cultural tourism, and leisure activities. The architectural design features white fair-faced concrete that echoes the pure, enduring quality of Xuan paper. The town consists of five main areas: the National Paper Hall, the China Xuan Paper Museum, the Red Star Super Xuan Paper Workshop, the Xuan Paper Craft Display Zone, and the Hongxing Xuan Paper Exhibition Hall. Visitors can learn about the history and culture of Xuan paper, appreciate various Xuan paper artworks, and experience the entire process of making Xuan paper.
