Located in Chengdu's Chenghua District, Eastern Suburb Memory is a contemporary cultural and tourism park repurposed from the former site of the state-owned Hongguang Electron Tub Factory. Dating back to the 1950s, this site offers a tangible link to the initial stages and subsequent growth of modern Chinese industry.

Blending elements of its industrial past with a vibrant contemporary scene, the Eastern Suburb Memory features a diverse mix of repurposed factory buildings, preserved industrial machinery, art exhibition venues, a performing arts center, and a cultural and creative commercial district. Soviet-style red brick workshops, steam locomotives, chimney stacks, and water towers stand side-by-side with modern digital cultural and creative establishments, trendy pop-up shops, and artistic coffee houses. Sculptures and art installations are scattered throughout the site, while towering concrete structures host avant-garde art exhibitions, and the old boiler house has been transformed into a thriving Live House. The result is a dynamic fusion where raw industrial aesthetics meet cutting-edge contemporary culture.
