On the evening of January 27 local time, the 2026 "Happy Spring Festival - Lighting Up Chinese Red" event was jointly held by the Chinese Embassy in Algeria, the Algerian Ministry of Tourism and Handicrafts, and the Algiers Provincial Government at the Algiers Grand Post Office, a landmark of the Algerian capital. That night, the century-old building was illuminated in festive Chinese red for the first time, symbolizing a China-Algeria friendship as warm as spring and enduring through time.

Artists from the Gansu Song and Dance Theatre presented a dazzling array of performances at the venue, including erhu and pipa recitals, Dunhuang dance, and high-difficulty acrobatics in flash mob performances.
