Inner Mongolia's Ice-and-Snow Nadam Fair
Published: February 5, 2026

Nadam, meaning "games" or "recreation" in Mongolian, is a traditional cultural and sporting event distinctive to the Mongolian ethnic group. It is typically held on the grasslands each July and August to celebrate a bountiful harvest. In recent years, various regions across Inner Mongolia have integrated this folk tradition with winter tourism, creating the vividly regional "Ice-and-Snow Nadam."

The 21st Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Ice-and-Snow Nadam Fair commenced on December 21, 2025, in Hulunbuir. The fair has now evolved into a year-round "Daily Nadam" experience. Visitors can not only savor local specialties such as freshly steamed beef jerky and Hake ice cream but also enjoy ice-and-snow performances that blend tradition with modernity.
