In the area around the Erhai lake, such initiatives as building wastewater interception systems and reducing agricultural runoff have been adopted to restored the natural environment. Today, the 129-kilometer Erhai Lake Ecological Corridor has become a "green ribbon" integrating recreation, wellness, science education, and eco-tourism.
