Located northwest of Lijiang city, Yunnan province, Yulong (Jade Dragon) Snow Mountain offers a wide variety of natural landscapes—snow‑capped peaks, wetlands, meadows, forests, and lakes. Within the scenic area are several noteworthy attractions: Glacier Park (noted as the glacier park at the lowest latitude in Asia), the romantic Spruce Meadow, the natural grazing grounds of Yak Meadow, and the sapphire-blue Blue Moon Valley. The area also includes cultural sites and visitor experiences such as the Glacial Geology Museum and the large-scale outdoor performance Impression Lijiang, staged in an authentic natural setting.

Glacier Park
Featuring the largest glacial landscape in southwest China, visitors can take a cable car directly to the viewing platform at 4,506 meters above sea level. From there, a walk along the plank path leads to the monument at 4,680 meters, a popular photo spot. On clear days, visitors may witness the spectacular phenomenon known as the "Sunlit Golden Peaks."

Blue Moon Valley
The lake displays a crystal-clear blue hue caused by mineral deposits. On sunny days, the snow-capped peaks reflect on the water to create a mesmerizing scene. Visitors can take the scenic bus to the "Shuiyue Pavilion" stop and explore on foot or by renting an electric cart; the complete tour takes about an hour.

Spruce Meadow
Accessible via a smaller cable car at an altitude of about 3,240 meters, Spruce Meadow is home to ancient spruce forests and alpine meadows. In summer, wildflowers bloom abundantly, while in winter, a blanket of snow transforms the area into a scene straight out of a fairy tale.
Yak Meadow
Reached by the mid-level cable car at an elevation of approximately 3,800 meters, Yak Meadow offers expansive views and an undisturbed, primitive landscape. Visitors can enjoy panoramic vistas of the snow‑capped mountains and may even take a yak ride.

Ganhaizi
This vast meadow, situated at 3,050 meters above sea level, provides a distant view of the thirteen peaks of Yulong Snow Mountain. It is an ideal location for photography enthusiasts to capture the full grandeur of the mountain range.
Preventing altitude sickness:
Oxygen bottles are available for purchase in supermarkets or pharmacies in the Old Town of Lijiang; it is advisable to buy them in advance. Ascend slowly and avoid strenuous activity. Carry glucose supplements or chocolate for quick energy.
Keeping warm:
Temperatures vary drastically between the mountain base and the summit. Wear a down jacket or windproof jacket; these can also be rented within the scenic area.
Sun protection:
UV radiation is extremely strong at high altitudes. Bring sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, and other protective gear.
