Meeting Jiangxia Through Its Bridges
Published: March 4, 2026

A bridge is a story in itself, a vessel of culture, a chapter of history. Standing in the river of time, it bears witness to the vicissitudes of the past and unfolds the living tapestry of everyday life.

In Jiangxia District of Wuhan, Hubei Province, rivers and lakes have long crisscrossed the land, earning it the name of a renowned "hometown of bridges." To this day, 36 ancient bridges remain. Standing here, history feels almost within arm's reach. Though times have changed, these old bridges endure as distinctive cultural symbols, continuing to play a vital role in the present.
